Putnam County committee approves conveyance of county parcel to Town of Carmel for staging and access

Putnam County's Physical Services Committee moved March 10 to pre-file a resolution conveying a county-owned parcel (Carmel Tax Map #64.7-1-5) to the Town of Carmel so it can be used as a staging area and access point for an adjacent town project.
Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Works Joseph Bellucci said the parcel is adjacent to a Town of Carmel project and will be used for staging and storage access. Legislator Sayegh noted that Town Supervisor Michael Cazzari had requested quick action earlier in the year. Commissioner of Finance William Carlin said the parcel is designated Section 8, so there is no tax write-off and no fiscal impact to the County.
Chairman Gouldman moved to pre-file the necessary resolution; Legislator Sayegh seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Legislator Crowley expressed appreciation to DPW and the Law Department for advancing the matter quickly. The pre-filing advances a formal conveyance process to the full Legislature for consideration.
