Boca Raton council adopts second FY24–25 budget amendment totaling $2.17 million

Boca Raton — The Boca Raton City Council voted 5-0 on May 27 to adopt Ordinance 57-34, the second budget amendment for fiscal year 2024–25, which increases revenues and expenditures across multiple funds by $2,171,100.
Sharon McGuire, the city's OMB director, presented the ordinance and explained fund-level changes: the general fund will recognize $375,000 in lease revenue to offset a matching $375,000 increase in expenditures related to the downtown campus redevelopment project; the building fund will recognize $476,400 in permit revenues and the general fund will show $476,400 in expenditures for permit-fee assistance tied to the Martin Manor project; the information-technology fund will recognize $319,700 in revenue from transfers for capital outlay; and the cemetery mausoleum fund will record a $1,000,000 transfer from the Mausoleum Perpetual Care Fund with a corresponding $1,000,000 capital outlay increase for roof replacement.
McGuire reported total expenditures for the second budget amendment of $2,171,100 and invited questions; none were raised during the public hearing. The council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance by a recorded voice vote of 5-0.
