The Nemaha County Board of Equalization opened a public hearing on Oct. 12, 2022 to set county levies for 2022 and adopted Resolution 2022-24 by unanimous roll call vote.
County Treasurer Jana Gerdes and County Assessor Mallory Lempka presented related exemption requests and parcels requiring notices. After deliberation the board adopted the levies that define the county's tax rates for political subdivisions for 2022.
At a subsequent meeting on Oct. 26 the board corrected a clerical error on the City of Auburn levy adopted under Resolution 2022-24, clarifying the General Fund and MFO Fund components and confirming the corrected total levy; the correction was adopted by roll call.
Minutes record the adoption of Resolution 2022-24 and the later clerical correction; the Assessor also presented the 2022 Plan of Assessment for 2023—2025 during the Oct. 26 meeting.
