County approves two-year criminal-justice treatment agreement with state health authority

Pacific County on Nov. 12 approved Interagency Agreement K8534 with the Washington State Health Care Authority to provide two years of criminal-justice treatment and recovery services for eligible individuals in therapeutic court programs.
Health and Human Services staff Jessica told commissioners the funding is aimed at providing tangible case management and housing supports for people involved in the criminal-justice system who are eligible for substance use disorder treatment. “The funding's for 2 years, fortunately, and it primarily goes to provide tangible case management and housing needs for therapeutic court clients,” Jessica said.
Commissioners approved the interagency agreement by voice vote with no recorded roll-call tally in the transcript. The agreement is intended to support eligible substance-use-disorder and criminal-justice-involved individuals through a combination of treatment and recovery services administered by county HHS under the state contract.
The board did not discuss specific dollar amounts or a breakdown of service providers during the recorded discussion; commissioners moved the item under the county’s standard condition that approvals are subject to adequate budget appropriations.
