PONDERA COUNTY, Mont. — During its Jan. 28 meeting, the Pondera County Board of Commissioners approved multiple budget and contracting actions, including a budget amendment directing additional grant revenue to an airport improvement project, acceptance of a courtroom security grant, and approval of contracts for auditing and mapping services.
The board adopted Resolution #16 (2025/26) earlier in January to correct the budget for grant revenue and to reallocate funds to airport improvements: grant revenue for fund 2170 increased from $528,393 to $669,492, with the airport improvement project line raised to $434,072 and several new lines added for land purchase, engineering and professional services. Separately, at the Jan. 28 session the board accepted a $10,000 courtroom security grant from the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) to purchase two flush steel doors costing $17,590; Pondera County will pay the remaining $7,590.
Commissioners approved a Standard Federal Audit Contract with Nexus CPA Group at a cost of $41,190 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, and approved revised standardized labor rates with Mapping and Planning Specialists, Inc. (MaPS) for E911 and GPS/GIS mapping services. The board also approved a $1,250 contract with ESRI for mapping software.
The commission approved these items by recorded motions and noted they were carried by the board. The board also adopted Resolution #17 (2025/26) to record a $10,000 grant revenue increase for fund 2958 and add $10,000 to supplies for that fund.
