County approves renaming of regional economic development district to Evergreen Coast EDD

Pacific County commissioners on Nov. 12 adopted Resolution 2025-063 to rename the Pacific Salish Economic Development District as the Evergreen Coast Economic Development District, expanding the district’s branding to better reflect the region it serves.
A commissioner who serves on the economic development district board said the name change is intended to reflect changes in the region’s composition and branding needs. An EDD representative said the county should expect additional membership growth: “We anticipate in the near future, Lewis County will also join the EDD,” the representative said.
Commission discussion was brief. One commissioner said they had initially opposed the change but supported it in this vote, saying, “I just want to go on the record and say I was against the same to begin with,” and the board then approved the resolution by voice vote.
The resolution names Grays Harbor, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties as the district’s coverage area; commissioners noted the new name is intended to better reflect that regional scope. The board did not specify an effective date beyond the resolution adoption. The board approved the motion without recorded roll-call tallies on the public record.
The board recessed for an executive session scheduled later the same morning and agreed to continue the meeting the following day to consider additional business.
