Town Council member Jennifer Davila reported on a May 30 low-water-pressure incident affecting Bluff’s water distribution: communications between radios at the water tank and the water-treatment plant failed, likely after an unnoticed power outage on May 20, which prevented the tank from signaling for a refill. Bluff Water Works staff manually flipped an override and filled the tanks; service returned to full pressure roughly 90 minutes after staff intervention.
Davila identified individuals who can operate the override and perform basic system actions (Jennifer Davila, Antonio Davila, Mike Yearous and Steve Helgerson) and encouraged residents to attend Bluff Water Works meetings. Davila praised the town’s quick notification system and the coordinated response by BWW staff. Councilmembers asked BWW to post updates on a town website so residents have timely information during incidents.
BWW plans a public meeting on June 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bluff Library to explain the event and answer questions. No boil-water advisory or contamination was reported in the council discussion.
