Heidi, representing the local Head Start program, presented a continuation grant application to the commission. She said the application continues a program the county established five years ago and closely mirrors the grant approved in January 2024 after the program converted 32 Head Start slots to 16 Early Head Start slots.
"The grant application is a continuation grant that we've started 5 years ago with our baseline. This is the last year for the continuation," Heidi said, describing the application as similar to the version the commission approved in January 2024.
County counsel and other staff recorded no objection on the record. The commission asked no substantive follow-up questions during the session; the clerk noted the item would be placed on the agenda for formal action at a future meeting.
