County commission approves claims, contracts, appointments and permits; names Morgan Smith to DUI task force

At its meeting, the Anaconda Deer Lodge County Commission approved a series of routine actions, including minutes, payment claims, contracts, event permits and an appointment.

The commission approved minutes from the Jan. 7 meeting and the Jan. 21 work session after a motion by S3 and a second by the chair. It then authorized payment of claims numbered 146643 through 146737 totaling $180,273.04.

The board approved task order #25-07-1-01-154-0 under the master contract between ADLC and BPHHS for a Pathways to Recognition project. The task order totals $52,500, to be distributed in $7,500 increments through June 30, 2026.

Several special-event permits were approved conditionally pending certificates of insurance: Friends of Hurstree Library fundraiser (02/08/2025), Shakespeare in the Park performance (08/03/2025), a USA Softball tournament (July 11–13, 2025), a St. Patrick’s Day race (03/15/2025) and a St. Patrick’s Day parade (03/17/2025). The commission also accepted a resignation from a Hurstree Library trustee.

The commission appointed Morgan Smith as the county attorney’s office representative to the DUI task force after a motion by S4 and a second; county counsel (S2) said he expects to chair the task force upon his formal appointment.

The board approved a monitoring-services agreement with Butte Security — described on the record as a 36-month contract at $43 per month — and other routine administrative items and calendar announcements. Most motions passed by voice vote with 'ayes' recorded on the record.
