Commission names Beaucelet chair, Hart vice chair for 2025

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission unanimously elected Commissioner Beaucelet as its 2025 chair and Commissioner Hart as vice chair during the commission’s regular meeting. The motions to appoint both officials passed 5-0.
The leadership votes were procedural and passed without recorded opposition. After the chair vote a commissioner quipped, “Be careful what you wish for,” a remark that drew light response from the dais.
The commission also confirmed appointments of representatives to various Anaconda Local Development Corporation (ALDC) boards for 2025, including Mr. Vergette taking a seat on the solid waste board and Mr. Monette being added to that board. Commissioners discussed which outside bodies require formal commissioner representation and noted that some committees are intended to be staffed by executive-branch employees rather than commissioners.
The decisions are effective immediately and were made by motion and roll-call affirmation. Commissioners said they will follow up on committee assignments in a subsequent work session if additional changes are requested.
