County health department awarded $52,500 task order toward accreditation funding

Anaconda-Deer Lodge County’s health department told commissioners it has been selected for the Public Health Accreditation Board’s second cohort and is eligible for up to $60,000 in support, a department representative said.
"The full amount that we're eligible to get is $60,000, but due to the contracting time frame, this is, $52,500," the representative said, adding that the remaining $7,500 is expected in a subsequent task order on July 1. Officials said roughly $10,000 of the grant will cover the board’s accreditation fee.
Commissioners asked how the funds would be used. The department said the money will pay staff time for employees working on accreditation measures, cover the accreditation fee and could be used to hire outside help to prepare documentation and formal plans the department lacks time to complete.
The county placed the item on the agenda for consideration. No formal vote or additional conditions were recorded in the transcript. The department’s presentation framed the award as an opportunity to advance accreditation and noted the timing of contracting affected the initial task order amount.
