Z2025‑044 (Chandler’s Landing): Staff presented a request from Jim Benson Custom Homes for a Specific Use Permit to construct a three‑story, 3,644‑square‑foot single‑family home on a 0.1214‑acre lot at 5405 Ranger Drive. Planning staff said the proposal meets density and dimensional standards except for garage orientation (garage extends about 6 feet in front of the front facade) and roof pitch (proposed mansard with 2:12 pitch versus the 3:12 minimum). The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval 6–0 after outreach; council approved the SUP unanimously.
Z2025‑045 (Sanger Addition): Staff reported the applicant proposes a 2,120‑square‑foot, two‑story single‑family home at 606 Ross Street in the Sanger Addition. Planning noted one noticed response in favor and a 6–0 Planning & Zoning recommendation; the council approved the SUP unanimously.
P2025‑023 (Webb replat): Rodney Webb requested approval to subdivide a 0.545‑acre property in the Old Town historic district into two residential lots. The Board of Adjustments had earlier approved variances to lot depth and lot size, and staff recommended approval of the replat; council approved it unanimously.
P2025‑025 (right‑of‑way abandonment and final plat): The city presented a proposal to abandon unimproved right‑of‑way established in the original town plat and convey portions to adjacent owners at no cost as part of the city’s right‑of‑way program. Staff said two of three adjacent owners responded; after a brief question from a resident staff clarified how the right‑of‑way would be divided, and council approved the abandonment ordinance unanimously.
Several council members thanked staff and applicants and noted that Planning & Zoning had reviewed and recommended approval for the contested items. The decisions will allow the applicants to proceed with building and recordation steps as applicable.
