The Anaconda‑Deer Lodge County Commission approved a slate of administrative items including payment of claims, a public‑health contract amendment and a special‑event permit.
Chairman Hart presented claims numbered 145971 through 146103 totaling $924,057.82 and noted two large line items accounted for about 70% of the total: $86,500 to Helena Sand & Gravel for a cemetery phase 1 contract and roughly $551,000 to Hoffman R&M Services for street restorations. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the claims unanimously.
The commission also approved Amendment 1 to a master contract with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services to continue WIC services. The amendment increases WIC funding by $71,263 for fiscal year 2024–25, split into $67,635 for general WIC services and $3,628 for breastfeeding peer counseling, and extends the agreement through Sept. 30, 2025.
Finally, the commission approved Discover Anaconda's request to support the Anaconda Stroll Community Holiday Celebration on Nov. 29, 2024 at Community Commons / Kennedy Commons; the Discover Anaconda representative Alexis said the event mirrors past strolls and requires no new county services beyond normal coordination.
All motions passed by unanimous voice vote.
