Council approves renewal of 55 liquor licenses for 2026 term

The Sheridan City Council voted to approve the renewal of 55 liquor licenses for the 2026 license term after a routine annual review by the city clerk’s office and the Wyoming Liquor Division.
City clerk Ashley Foster said the town has 55 current licenses and that this is the first recent year in which all renewal applications were received on time. "Once we have all of those, we provide those to the state. They review them … and we get the green light for all of them," Foster said, describing the multi-step renewal workflow.
Foster reported that one license — New Dragon Wall — is renewing as nonoperational with an anticipated opening around January 2026, pending final activation. She noted the process for handling liquor-license citations when they occur, including police review and remedial plans; there were no outstanding citation concerns for 2025 and three 2024 citations had been ameliorated.
After the clerk’s presentation, a motion to approve the renewals was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
The city will notify the state and distribute license cards once the renewal process is complete.
