Cody council approves rezoning of Block 14 on second reading

The Cody City Council approved Ordinance 2026-05 on second reading to rezone Lots 1–12 and the north 65-foot, 8-inch portion of Lots 15–16 in Block 14 from R-3 (medium-density residential) to D-2 (general business).

Jenny Kramer, the staff reference for the item, told the council there were no new comments or changes since the ordinance’s first reading: “We have not had any any new comments or anything, no changes, since the first reading. So I stand for questions if you have any.” A council member corrected the staff sheet’s measurement for the property’s legal description to read “65 foot 8 inches”; Kramer characterized the prior figure as a graphical error.

Mayor sought and recorded a motion to adopt the ordinance as amended. The mayor announced the motion as moved by Council member Setonary and seconded by Council member Shreve; the mayor called for the ayes and declared the motion carries.
