Council approves new Bar & Grill license for Smith Alley and three ownership transfers

The City Council approved three liquor-license items during the meeting.
City Clerk Ashley Foster presented the Smith Alley Brewing application for a Bar & Grill license at 150 North Main Street and clarified that because of state statute the business will not pay duplicate microbrewery fees at renewal; council asked and confirmed that microbrewery and bar-and-grill privileges are distinct. With no public comment, the council voted by voice to approve the new license.
Foster also presented an administrative ownership transfer for restaurant liquor license #12 at 138 N. Main Street (Cowboy Cafe) from KMR Enterprises to KIMR Enterprises; staff explained the transfer was an entity-name/tax-ID administrative matter and the ownership is unchanged. Council approved the transfer by voice vote.
A third administrative transfer of retail liquor license #7 (412 Whitney Lane) from Penalty Box LLC to Ice House LLC was presented by Foster; she said ownership remains the same and the transfer was approved by voice vote.
All three items drew no public comment during their hearings.
