Senior Advisory Commission approves minutes, small event budgets and fundraiser subcommittee

The Lathrop Senior Advisory Commission on Feb. 12 voted unanimously to accept its Nov. 13, 2025 regular meeting minutes and to acknowledge a Senior Advisory Commission fund balance of $21,110.45. Chair Belfield moved the consent item, which passed 4-0 with Vice-Chair Davis seconding.
The commission approved two separate budget items for community events. Commissioner Crowder moved — and Chair Belfield seconded — a motion authorizing budgets not to exceed $100 each for prizes at a Senior Pool Tournament on March 26, 2026, at the Senior Center and for a Seniors vs. Teens Pool Tournament on April 10, 2026, at the Generations Center; the motion passed 4-0.
The commission also voted 4-0 to appoint a subcommittee to plan a Senior Advisory Commission fundraiser dinner and to approve a related budget. Vice-Chair Davis and Commissioner White were named to the subcommittee. The motion to form the subcommittee was made by Vice-Chair Davis and seconded by Chair Belfield.
Votes at the meeting were recorded as follows: Ayes — Chair Belfield, Vice-Chair Davis, Commissioners Crowder and White; Noes — none; Absent — Commissioner Doughty; Abstain — none.
Next steps: the newly appointed subcommittee is expected to meet to develop details for the fundraiser dinner and present recommendations to the full commission at a future meeting.
