Cody council approves committee appointments and routine items

The Cody City Council approved routine business and several appointments during its regular meeting.
Council approved the consent calendar after the chair said there were no requests to remove items. Council Member Setonary moved to approve; Council Member Tamplin seconded, and the council voted in favor.
The council then appointed five people to the contractors board for three-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2028: David Barton (general contractor), Todd Evans (HVAC), Jesse Blankenship (plumbing), Ray Lozier (electrician) and Jonathan Roberts (electrician). Cindy Baker (staff, referenced by the council) described the appointments as routine renewals; Council Member MacIsaac moved the appointments and Council Member Lang seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote.
Separately, the council appointed Elise Guarino, Nancy Brown, Kristen Fong and Kathy Thompson to the Cody Public Art Committee for three-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2028. Staff explained that the art committee recruits its own members and that the list before the council filled existing vacancies; Council Member Sweat moved approval and Council Member Shreve seconded. The council voted in favor and the appointments carried.
The council also approved a change order for the North Lips station improvements contract that reduces the contract value by $4,251.48. Staff summarized that the change order incorporates three items discussed at a prior work session; the council approved the change order on a voice vote.
Finally, the council approved the first reading of a housekeeping ordinance (2025-36) to correct a wording error in the subdivision final plat regulations; staff said the single-word change fixes the filing-timeframe language. Council Member Sweat moved the ordinance on first reading; Council Member Setonary seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting continued with discussion of other agenda items and staff updates; council members offered brief holiday remarks before adjournment.
