"Resolutions going forward will just clearly define your findings, conclusions, and conditions of approval that have been determined or decided upon in your release," Jenny, a planning staff member, told the board, saying the change should help applicants and reviewers identify what was approved.
Dan moved to adopt the set of resolutions from the Nov. 6 meeting (2025-01, -02, -07) as presented by staff; the motion was seconded and the board approved the resolutions. The Chair then proposed introducing a consent calendar to bundle routine actions—agenda approval, minutes and resolutions—into one item going forward; board members supported the idea and suggested following the City Council practice of allowing members to pull items for discussion. One member asked that the consent calendar include brief identifiers (for example, a resolution number) so reviewers can see what is in the bundle.
Board members noted the change is intended to streamline routine business, but emphasized that items with discrepancies should be pulled for discussion before approval. The board adjourned after the consent-calendar discussion and other routine business.
What happens next: Staff will implement the resolution format and prepare a consent-calendar procedure for the board to use at future meetings. The adopted resolutions become part of the official record and will be available with board minutes and staff reports.
