Mayor Josh Ewing told the council on Jan. 13 that the Cemetery Board application deadline was that afternoon and that four applications had been received. Under the board policy allowing three to five members, Ewing recommended appointing three members and having a council liaison to handle inquiries.
Councilmembers agreed to review the applicants and prepare appointment recommendations for the next meeting. A resident identified in the record as Leppanen said they would be willing to advise the board to help see a grant through but had not applied for a board seat.
No appointments were made at the work session; council directed staff to circulate applications and return with recommendations for formal action at the next meeting.
