She said the funds may be used only to reduce bond principal and sinking fund interest, not for other operating expenses.
Commissioner Pelton moved to proceed with the application and Commissioner Olson seconded; the roll-call vote was recorded as all voting aye. The commission did not specify individual award amounts at the meeting; distribution will depend on each school’s student counts as required by the grant rules.
Next steps are to complete and submit the application as directed by the county auditor.
