Alpena County committee clears three millage renewals for ballots in August and November

County Administrator Jesse Osmer presented three separate ballot language proposals on March 10 seeking renewals of existing local millages.
Veterans millage: The committee approved language to continue the Veterans millage at the current rate of 0.21 mill for four years and authorized the County Clerk to place it on the November 2026 ballot. The motion passed unanimously.
Youth and Recreation millage: The committee approved renewing the Youth and Recreation millage at 0.50 mill for four years and placing the question on the August 4, 2026 ballot. Vote was unanimous.
Older Persons millage: The committee approved renewing the Older Persons Operating Millage at 0.55 mill for four years and placing it on the August 4, 2026 ballot. Vote was unanimous.
All three motions were recorded as Action Items #10–#12. County staff will forward the approved language to the clerk’s office for placement on the specified ballots.
