McKenna Julian, University of Wyoming Extension Educator for Agriculture & Natural Resources, presented an annual impact report to the Lincoln County commissioners on March 3, 2026.
Julian reported 97 agricultural and horticultural consultations during the reporting period, covering ranch visits, soil sampling and producer outreach. She described programming for beef producers (monthly Beef Brief articles, Rancher’s EDGE, a virtual fencing symposium) and sheep programming (Sheep Task Force work including research briefs, infographics, webinars and hands-on trainings). Extension-hosted events included Southwest Wyoming Ag Days with five presenters and 48 attendees and plans to host an agricultural drone class.
The Extension’s 4-H impact was summarized as 312 members, 61 adult leaders, eight junior leaders and 24 clubs, with multiple youth activities in Afton, Cokeville and Kemmerer and partnerships with local libraries and schools for curriculum and outreach. Julian also described ongoing fundraising for a scale house at the county fairgrounds and program support efforts for shooting-sports infrastructure. The presentation concluded with the March 3 session’s adjournment at 1:21 p.m.
