The Monroe County Board of Commissioners on March 4 presented proclamations honoring county employees and local 4‑H youth.
Vice‑Chairman David C. Parker read and presented a proclamation declaring March 6, 2026, Monroe County Employee Appreciation Day and thanked county employees for their public service. Theresa Ratliff, assistant director of Human Resources, accepted the proclamation; Vice‑Chairman Parker noted the Human Resources Department arranged a local vendor to provide bagels for staff recognition.
Commissioner Sharon S. Laverdure presented a proclamation designating March 15–21, 2026, as Pennsylvania 4‑H Week in Monroe County and recognized Monroe County Teen Council officers Micah Staples (president), Abigail Smith (vice president), Isabella Haley (photographer) and Grace Smith (secretary). The proclamation text notes 4‑H in Pennsylvania is delivered by Penn State Cooperative Extension and highlights the organization’s work with youth in areas such as animal science, civic engagement, STEM and health and wellness.
Commissioners thanked the youth and county staff for their contributions during the brief presentation segment. The proclamations were presented early in the meeting; the board proceeded to routine business afterward.
