During the City Manager’s report, Nathan R. Henne said the city is preparing for the Shiawassee District Library’s move and that a temporary committee of local stakeholders has been convened to help determine the Carnegie library building’s future use.
Councilmember Janae L. Fear asked about demolition timing for a building at Cedar and Main; Henne said neither the SEDP nor the Land Bank had provided a tentative demolition date.
The council did not take formal action on the Carnegie building at the March 2 meeting; the committee will facilitate stakeholder input and decision-making going forward.
