At its June 26 meeting the Calhoun County Commission approved a set of routine but consequential items ranging from procurement to intergovernmental appointments.
County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented the items. The commission awarded the EMA HVAC Improvements bid to Climate Flow LLC for $65,000; a resolution to that effect was adopted by voice vote after a motion by Commissioner Henderson and a second by Commissioner Shears. Commissioners authorized the chairman to sign a one‑year agreement with Landauer for dosimetry services to support court security radiation monitoring (motion by Commissioner Shears; second by Commissioner Wilson). The commission authorized the chairman to sign an agreement with Pinhoti Animal Rescue Inc. once the agreement is finalized (motion by Commissioner Patterson; second by Commissioner Henderson).
The commission also accepted the Revenue Commissioner’s Report of Insolvent and Litigations for the 2024 tax year (motion by Commissioner Wilson; second by Commissioner Shears). Appointments included naming Chairman Terry Howell as the county voting delegate for the 2025 NACo Annual Business Meeting and appointing Commissioner Patterson to the ACCA Legislative Committee; Commissioner Wilson moved to appoint Riley Foshee to fill the unexpired District 4 seat on the 911 District Board of Directors. A resolution was adopted to cancel the July 10 commission meeting to allow commissioners to attend the NACo conference.
