Administrator Jonathan Gaddy announced the vacancy on the MDA board and said the authority had removed appointee JD Hess because his attendance fell below the board's required standards. County Attorney Julie Borrelli told the commission the matter qualified as an emergency because the vacancy needed to be filled before a McClellan Development Authority meeting scheduled later that day; Borrelli also said the MDA had provided incomplete records and audit reports in response to a records request from the City of Anniston.
Commissioner Shears moved to reappoint JD Hess to the MDA board; Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion. The commission approved the reappointment by unanimous voice vote. Earlier in the meeting Commissioner Howell moved to adopt the agenda, a motion seconded by Commissioner Shears and approved by unanimous voice vote.
After the reappointment, Commissioner Howell moved to adjourn; Commissioner Wilson seconded, and the commission adjourned at 10:05 a.m. The record does not include a numeric roll-call tally of votes, only that actions were approved by unanimous voice vote.
