The actions were taken during the regular meeting convened by Vice-Chair Howell and carried by voice vote of all commissioners present: Vice-Chair Howell, Commissioner Shears, Commissioner Wilson and Commissioner Patterson. Environmental Programs Manager Kraig Mize presented the code-enforcement items, which covered eight properties recommended for abatement and six properties recommended to be declared public nuisances; the record shows owners were notified but no representatives attended the meeting.

- Additional nuisance declarations: Commissioners adopted resolutions declaring six other properties in Anniston as public nuisances.
- Contract extension: An Interceptor Tank Pump Out Services contract with Economy Septic Tank was extended on the same terms as the existing contract; the extension was adopted by resolution.
- Surplus property and auction agreement: The commission declared several Highway Department vehicles and equipment surplus and authorized an agreement with JM Wood Auction Company to sell the surplus, with a guaranteed amount of $2,991,000. County Engineer Rodney McCain told commissioners the equipment rotation has helped the department keep costs down.
- Other agreements and approvals: The commission authorized the chairman to sign an agreement with Secure Shred for records destruction; authorized the chairman to sign a ValPay Card Services agreement for the county landfill once it is in final form; accepted the Pattiway Acres resubdivision plat (county engineer recommended approval); and authorized a Terracon agreement for engineering services related to an Administration Building floor settlement.
All motions recorded in the minutes were adopted by unanimous voice vote of the commissioners present. The commission also appointed Ms. Teresa Smith to fill a District 4 vacancy on the Beautification Board.
