Commission awards sports‑complex beverage contract, approves change orders and routine county agreements

The Calhoun County Commission on April 10 unanimously approved a suite of administrative, contract and capital items presented by County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy.
The Commission awarded the county’s Soft Drink Sales contract for the Calhoun County Sports Complex to the sole bidder, Coca‑Cola Bottling Co. United, approving a resolution authorizing the award. The board also declared a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria assigned to the landfill as surplus property to be sold.
On capital work, the Commission authorized two AIA change orders for jail projects: $12,469 for site water and floor‑drain modifications to the jail medical unit and $776 for a concrete bunk in the jail renovation project — $13,245 in combined change orders — and authorized the chairman to sign related documents.
Administrative resolutions adopted included a bank authorization designating Administrator Jonathan Gaddy and Chairman Terry Howell as authorized county signatories, and approval of a 2024 Memorandum of Participation for interim GASB 75 OPEB reporting to be performed by Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting, LLC.
The Commission also ratified a quitclaim deed transferring county property at 1129 Noble Street in Anniston to the City of Anniston and approved an agreement with Alabama Power Company for lighting services at the Disabled American Veterans building at 1810 Noble Street. Additional small agreements approved included a $690 service with Bagby Elevator Company and a graphic‑design services agreement with WideNet Consulting.
All of these items were adopted by voice vote with no recorded opposition in the minutes.
