Calhoun County awards $2.15M bridge contract and several service agreements

County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented multiple procurement and contract items to the Calhoun County Commission on Sept. 25, 2025. The commission approved all measures by unanimous voice votes.
The commission awarded the bridge replacement and approaches contract on Alexandria-Wellington Road to The Bridge Builders of Alabama for $2,147,913.35. Commissioner Wilson moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Shears seconded; Chairman Terry Howell commented he was glad to see the project moving forward.
The commission also awarded the GPS monitoring services contract for the Sheriff’s Office to Alternatives to Incarceration, effective Oct. 1, 2025. Mr. Gaddy presented a resolution to award Park & Recreational Materials to Miller Sand and Landscape Supply for the contract year Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2026. Commissioners also ratified an agreement with David Landscape Services for $67,500 for a Chief Ladiga Landing landscaping project.
A change order for Hurst Construction totaling $5,175 was approved to remove existing septic tanks and install a new one at the Choccolocco Community Center. The commission also approved an amendment to extend the Camp McClellan Horse Trail Improvements project to March 31, 2026. All items were adopted by unanimous voice votes and supporting documentation is on file with the county.
