Commissioner Wilson moved to adopt the resolution, and Commissioner Shears seconded; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Commissioner Patterson commended Wood and the administration for their work preparing the budget.
During the public-comment period, Johnny Warren, owner of Anniston EMS, urged the commission to consider allocating funds to support local emergency medical services, saying the operation faces "challenging times" and noting that ambulances are often underappreciated until needed. The comment was placed on the record but no funding motion was made during the meeting.
The resolution passed final approval at the meeting; next steps are routine budget implementation by county staff and any required administrative steps to execute appropriations. The commission announced its next regular meeting for Oct. 9, 2025.
