Minutes and appointments: The council voted 3-0 to approve the Jan. 20, 2026 meeting minutes. Mayor David Brems moved to appoint Council Member Robert Pinon as the city’s representative to the Unified Police Department and Salt Lake Valley Law Enforcement Service Area Boards; the motion passed 3-0 with Council Members Jennifer Hawkes and Robert Pinon listed as absent from the vote. The council also moved to appoint Council Member Jennifer Hawkes as the city's alternate representative to the Municipal Services District Board; that motion likewise passed 3-0.
Procedural scheduling: Council Member Catherine Harris moved and the council approved a March workshop at 6:00 p.m. so council members could review board duties and assignments before finalizing any changes to appointments.
Other motions: Council Member Griffith moved to table Resolution R2026‑03 until the next meeting (motion passed 3-0). The council later voted 3-0 to recess to a closed session under Utah Code §52‑4‑205 for a set of allowed purposes, and then voted 3-0 to adjourn the public meeting at 8:53 p.m.
