The motion to approve the NMC Cat quote and BJ’s Sandhill Electric gas-line installation was made by Commissioner Matt Niewohner and seconded by Commissioner Brian J. Yosten; the motion passed unanimously.
County maintenance supervisor Rod Nelson presented three vendor quotes: NMC Cat Power Systems at $23,983 after trade-in (plus an estimated $2,150 for gas-line installation), Nebraska Generator Service LLC at $50,305 after trade-in, and JP Electric Inc. at $51,962 after trade-in. The board selected the lowest-cost option and authorized the chairman to sign purchase agreements. The county recorded an installation target of approximately September 2026.
The board did not attach additional contingencies to the purchase in the minutes. The action was recorded as a formal purchase authorization in the meeting record.
