Public Works Superintendent Jed Rhubee told the board the purchases replace aged units. The approved buys were: a 2026 Ram 5500 Crew Cab chassis ($57,794.75) plus a Towmaster dump box ($32,247.00) totaling $90,041.75 to replace a 2004 Chevy 4500; a 2026 Schulte XH1000 Series 5—10’ batwing mower ($43,184.26) to replace a 2004 Schulte mower; a 2026 CAT 275 Skid Steer Loader ($97,044.25); and a 2025 Towmaster T‑20LP trailer ($18,595.94) to replace a 2011 Rice light-duty trailer. The combined cost of these four purchases is $248,866.20.
After the equipment approvals, the board unanimously authorized selling the surplus equipment being replaced. The purchases were made via state bid vendors: Dave Syverson Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Trueman Welters, and Ziegler Cat.
The board recorded the purchases as unanimous motions; the minutes note the vehicle and equipment replacements and identify the units being retired by year. No additional county appropriation or financing detail was included in the minutes.
