Fulton County commissioners approve minutes, payables and multiple personnel and appointment actions

After opening remarks and the Pledge of Allegiance, the board approved the Dec. 9, 2025 Commissioners' Meeting minutes and the Dec. 9, 2025 Retirement Board minutes. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve payables dated Dec. 16, 2025, totaling $281,921.91; the minutes list fund-level totals including $214,588.09 to the General Fund and $46,105.21 from Opioid Settlement Funds. The motion carried unanimously.
Commissioners met with Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress. Commissioner Hann moved to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee effective Dec. 8, 2025; that motion carried. Hann also moved to advertise for an "Enforcement Officer 1" in the Domestic Relations Department, to be advertised both internally and externally; that motion carried.
A brief Retirement Board meeting at 9:15 a.m. set the employee pension contribution rate; separate minutes are on file. The board entered a short executive session for personnel matters at 9:36 a.m., exiting at 9:38 a.m., and a second executive session from 10:52 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; the minutes record no public actions taken during those sessions.
Other approvals included retroactive authorization of a Momentive Software renewal for the Fiscal Department at $1,660.48, approval of an inmate physician-service request submitted by the Sheriff's Department, and an appointment of Thomas Peppernick to the Fulton County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors for a term ending Dec. 31, 2027. Commissioner Hann moved to reappoint Margie McGuire, Paula Shives, Thomas Morton and Daniel Schriever to two-year terms on the Fulton County Agricultural Land Preservation Board; those reappointments were approved. Commissioner Bunch moved to approve the 2026 commissioners' meeting dates for publication in the Fulton County newspaper.
A DCED financial monitoring interview scheduled for 11:30 a.m. was canceled by DCED, which requested to meet with SEDA COG and the county’s chief clerk instead. Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to adjourn at 11:45 a.m.; the motion carried.
