Fulton County adopts 2026 pay scale and new health-insurance opt-out payment

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved the county’s 2026 pay scale and a change to Section 212 of the HR manual establishing an employee health-insurance opt-out payment.
HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the pay scale for 2026, which the board approved unanimously. Commissioners also amended the HR manual to state that eligible employees who opt out of county health insurance will receive a monetary payment pro-rated for the portion of the year waived, up to $1,020 annually ($85 per month). The waiting period will be excluded when calculating the payment; funds will be paid with the final payroll in December or upon resignation, provided the employee leaves in good standing.
Separately, the board approved hiring Angie Horton as Enforcement Officer 1 in Domestic Relations, effective Jan. 26, 2026, with salary set at a later Salary Board meeting per the collective bargaining agreement.
