Hoffman Estates planning committee adopts 2026 zoning map; no zoning changes for 2025

The Planning, Building and Zoning Committee for the Village of Hoffman Estates approved the annual adoption of the 2026 zoning map on March 9 after planning staff said there were no zoning changes in 2025.
"This is just the annual adoption of the zoning map," planning staff said, adding that "there were no zoning changes in 2025," and that the map remains the same as last year. Trustees moved and seconded the motion and approved adoption by voice vote.
Committee members also received and filed three monthly reports — the Planning Division, Code Enforcement Division and Economic Development and Tourism reports — and heard the village president's report on recent regional meetings and local events. The committee confirmed remote participation for Trustee Palafis during the session.
The committee recorded the adoption by voice vote; no roll-call tally was read into the record.
The Planning, Building and Zoning Committee will proceed with regular duties; any substantive rezoning or map changes would be returned to the committee and the board for formal public process.
