Dorchester County Council approves grant submission, USDA letter of support, and two board appointments

At its Jan. 7, 2025 meeting, Dorchester County Council approved several administrative and consent items including a grant submission, a letter of support request and two board appointments.
Finance and Public Works staff requested authorization to submit a $70,671 FY2025 Energy Efficiency Equity Program grant through the Maryland Energy Administration to fund an energy-saving lighting retrofit at the Dorchester County Circuit Court; the minutes state there is no local match requirement and the performance period ends Aug. 1, 2027. The Council approved the submission as part of the Consent Agenda.
The Council also approved a request from Kevin Sullivan, State Director, U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services, for a letter of support for an Agricultural Deer Cooperator Permit in Dorchester County. Both items were included in the Consent Agenda, which passed unanimously on a motion by Councilman Mike Detmer and a second by Councilman Rob Kramer.
Finally, the Council appointed Cherry Moaney to the Administrative Charging Committee and Stacy Kronner to the Recreation & Parks Advisory Board. The minutes do not record public comment on these items.
