Cloud County commissioners reviewed the budget and fund status and approved several administrative and financial actions during the March 10, 2025 meeting.
County Clerk Shella Thoman presented the Budget Status and Fund Status reports as of Feb. 28, 2025, showing an ending cash balance of $15,316,013.85. The Board then approved expenses totaling $610,423.49; the minutes list a fund-by-fund breakdown including General Fund $73,200.71; Road & Bridge $71,912.76; Special Machinery & Equipment $137,908.47; Pawnee Mental Health $58,178.75; Services for the Elderly $87,681.95; and other funds as recorded in the Clerk’s expense detail.
On motions by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn and approved unanimously, the Board also approved abatements 2025-47 through 2025-57 (net change ($1,130.50) and a refund of $703.62), a CDL Training Reimbursement agreement with Crockett Stortz effective March 3, 2025, and the March 3, 2025 meeting minutes. The Board noted the termination of Corrections Officer Brice Berk effective March 3, recognized Stacie Jackson as Employee of the Month, and received two wind-farm funding requests from the Concordia Chamber of Commerce ($7,254.77) and the Clyde Beautification Committee ($30,888.43) for local projects. The Board adjourned at 12:12 p.m. and will reconvene March 17, 2025.
