Health department reports Community Baby Shower; sheriff updates include inmate meals, K-9 training and a resignation

Tonya Sulanka, Health Department Administrator, told the board the Community Baby Shower hosted 23 vendors, about 80 guests and 21 mothers or participants; she said every participant received a playpen, diapers, wipes and other resources. Sulanka reported the Governor’s Conference went well and that Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) recredentialing contracts were approved.
Sheriff Ken Davis provided a report on inmate meals and training for K-9 officers. During the meeting the board also recognized the resignation of Corrections Officer Skyler Edmundson, effective March 28, 2025.
The board did not record separate votes related to the Baby Shower or the Sheriff’s operational updates; Sulanka’s items were presented as departmental updates and information for the record.
