On motions moved by Commissioner Ron Copple and seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, the Cloud County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 10 unanimously approved several routine actions summarized in the minutes.
The board approved republishing the Notice of Road Vacation to correct an error in the legal description; the minutes include the corrected legal-description language. The board authorized Chairman Michael Cleveland to sign a letter permitting the 1st Joint Special Operations Air Component to use county properties for military training April 2–9, 2025. The board also approved a letter of support for a Kansas Forest Service Community Wildfire Defense grant and appointed Ron Copple, John Christensen and Jacob Thoman for the related effort.
Financial items approved included county expenses totaling $311,484.27 across funds (General Fund $196,100.32; Road & Bridge $38,434.36; Solid Waste $55,810.76; County Health $13,085.03; and smaller line items). The board also approved abatements 2025-38 and 2025-39 with a net change and refund of $345.26.
