Tonya Sulanka, Health Department Administrator, reported that department staff are attending CPR recertification classes, the Home Health Spring Clinical Conference, Kan-B-Health training and a billing symposium. Sulanka announced spring Bike Rodeos scheduled for May 3 in Miltonvale, May 17 in Jamestown and May 31 in Clyde; she said helmets will be available while supplies last and that there will be drawings, prizes and games. Sulanka also noted the Health Department will participate in Bike to School Day on May 7 and will hand out free helmets while presenting bicycle-safety information.
Sulanka said the Health Department has free hand sanitizer available and is collecting new box fans; she encouraged donations to the crisis pantry, which is low on supplies, and said donations may be dropped off at the Health Department or the County Clerk’s Office. Sulanka also discussed a quote for computers for the department and referenced the Public Health Infrastructure grant; the meeting record does not include further details about the grant award or computer procurement timeline.
Members of the board approved a brief executive session later in the meeting to discuss a personnel exception that included Sulanka and the county clerk.
