Cloud County commissioners approve multiple personnel moves, classifications and a resignation

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners approved a set of personnel actions Jan. 27, including classification changes for two Highway employees, hiring a road maintenance worker, a transfer to the sheriff’s office and acceptance of a corrections officer’s resignation.
The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27 approved several personnel actions affecting the Highway and Sheriff’s departments.
On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, the board unanimously approved reclassifying Eric Wilson from Heavy Equipment Operator to Bridge Foreman effective Jan. 13, 2025 for a six-month period at level K5. The board also approved reclassifying Brent Trost from Heavy Equipment Operator to Equipment Operator III effective Jan. 26, 2025 at level J5.
Commissioner Copple moved and Commissioner Kearn seconded approval to hire Crockett Stortz as a Road Maintenance employee at the Highway Department at level F1 and to transfer Christopher McGuire from the Highway Department to the Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer effective Feb. 6, 2025 at level H1. The motions carried unanimously.
The board accepted the resignation of Corrections Officer Joy Fenske, effective Feb. 2, 2025. Earlier in the meeting the board approved a brief executive session under the non-elected personnel exception that included Highway Administrator Rod Michaud.
The actions were recorded during the board’s regular session and were moved and seconded on the record by Commissioners Copple and Kearn. No individual dissent was recorded.
