Residents raise safety, privacy and property-value concerns over pending bed-and-breakfast application

Laura Little said she was worried about the safety of neighborhood children, residents with disabilities and older adults and told the board she feared a B&B would negatively affect nearby property values. George Studenroth restated points he said had been raised at the Jan. 17 work session, while Larry Geesaman asked what concrete assurances residents would receive about safety and privacy if a B&B were permitted. Chris O’Hara raised concerns that a B&B could increase traffic in the neighborhood.
The board did not take formal action on the application during the session. Solicitor Diamond’s statement that questions about the pending application could not be answered at the meeting left the residents’ requests for specific protections and assurances unresolved. No vote or staff directive regarding the application is recorded in the minutes for this session.
