Londonderry Township supervisors voted unanimously April 7 to adopt the township’s Comprehensive Plan after a public hearing.
Township Solicitor James Diamond opened the public hearing "to present the Comprehensive Plan for Londonderry Township," and the hearing was closed at 7:24 p.m., according to the meeting minutes. Township Manager David Blechertas asked the Board to adopt or reject the plan; Bart Shellenhamer moved to adopt and Mel Hershey seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
Board members present for the vote were Ron Kopp (chair), Mike Geyer (vice-chair/secretary), Bart Shellenhamer, Mel Hershey and Anna Dale. The minutes state the public hearing record was taken stenographically and public comments are attached to the minutes as a separate handout.
The Board did not attach additional conditions to adoption in the meeting minutes. The adoption places the Comprehensive Plan into the township’s official records and allows staff to reference the plan in future land-use, capital and grant discussions.
The Board reconvened remaining agenda business after the vote; no timetable for next steps on Plan implementation was recorded in the minutes.
