At its Sept. 2 meeting, the Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors approved a series of contracts, purchases and personnel actions affecting parks, public works and township operations.
MS4 Coordinator Monique Dykman reported Manada Conservancy had terminated multiple contracts (Swatara Creek riparian buffer, Conewago meadow maintenance, Sunset Golf Course meadow maintenance) because an employee responsible for maintenance resigned; Manada will not charge for work done prior to Aug. 19, 2025. The board voided the Swatara Creek contract and approved replacement contracts with LandStudies Inc: Swatara Creek Riparian Buffer ($9,300), Conewago meadow maintenance ($2,700) and Sunset Golf Course meadow maintenance/install ($4,375). Risteff advised the board on the Sunset Golf Course contract; the motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved resolution 2025-26 to support applying for a Dauphin County Local Share Municipal Grant to fund purchases of a Public Works excavator and an asphalt rejuvenator, and approved Resolution 2025-27 to move additional General and Golf Course funds into the township’s PSDLAF GTS account.
Public Works Director Andy Brandt obtained approvals for: a DEP permit request via HRG to replace three storm pipes on Swatara Creek Road ($5,000); rental of a crack-sealing machine and materials from SealMaster ($6,710); tree trimming at Sunset Park by EK Tree Services ($3,550); rental of a paving machine (Martin Paving $2,250) and purchase of 40 tons total of blacktop from Byler Quarries ($2,721.40); and purchase of eight picnic tables for Sunset Park from Furniture Leisure ($12,724.71). The board also agreed to install a gate and change yard-waste facility hours to Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
On personnel and governance, the board accepted MS4 Coordinator Dykman’s resignation effective Sept. 9 and authorized staff to post a job announcement. The board appointed Elizabeth Felker to the Zoning Hearing Board to complete a term ending Dec. 31, 2029. The board also approved a Fire Police request for Sept. 13, 2025 and authorized a softball team to use Braeburn Park under an MOU for fall practices. The board set Trick-or-Treat night for Oct. 31, 2025, 6–8 p.m.
