Londonderry Township completed its 2026 reorganization on Jan. 5, electing Michael Geyer as chair, Anna Dale as vice chair and Bart Shellenhamer as secretary/treasurer and confirming a slate of managerial, legal and engineering appointments.
The nominations came during the reorganization portion of the meeting after Chairman Ron Kopp opened proceedings and Michelle Phillips, township notary, swore in newly elected supervisors. Township Manager David Blechertas presented the full list of appointments — including Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott as legal counsel, HRG as township engineers and Musser Hamilton as auditors — and the board voted unanimously to accept them.
Why it matters: the appointments set the township’s authorization structure for 2026, including bond and check-signing limits and official depositories, which affect the administration of contracts, grants and routine fiscal operations.
Board actions taken included designating Blechertas as the township’s Right-to-Know officer and naming Brian Marchuck as assistant secretary and treasurer designee for signature updates. The board also approved Resolution 2026-03, a budget amendment to draw additional reserves in anticipation of higher costs on Gingrich and Zion Bridge projects, and adopted Resolution 2026-04 to update authorized signatures on bank and investment accounts.
The board appointed Marchuck as its Dauphin County Tax Collection Committee delegate for 2026 and voted to designate the chair’s and other officers’ bond amounts at $750,000. Motions on these items carried unanimously.
The meeting closed its administrative business with approval of routine pay applications and vendor payments where noted; golf-course purchases were approved and the board recorded that those purchases will be funded by golf operations, not taxpayer dollars.
The board adjourned at 8:53 p.m.
