Board approves HRG engineering proposal to replace River Road water meters

Township Manager David Blechertas told the Board on Oct. 6 that 14 properties along River Road are served by public water but have meters that remain the township’s responsibility and require replacement. He presented a proposal from engineering firm HRG to provide engineering design, bidding, and construction oversight for $27,350 and said he would like the project to begin early next year.
The board voted unanimously to approve HRG’s proposal. According to Blechertas, the meters that run to private homes are the township’s responsibility and staff will schedule the work to minimize resident disruption.
The motion authorized HRG to advance design and procurement steps; the board did not vote on construction contracts or specific installation dates that night.
