Londonderry Township approves safety manual, IT security purchase and public works repairs; sets officer rotation

At its Dec. 1 meeting the Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors approved several operational and public works items, updated internal procedures and set officer roles for 2026.
Manager David Blechertas described an updated Township Safety Manual prepared with Public Works input and noted the safety committee is state'certified and will conduct annual Right'to'Know chemical training; the board approved the manual unanimously. The board also approved purchase of computer security hardware from Pointsolve Technology for $8,025.00; the manager said a contract is nearing completion and is under solicitor review.
Public Works Director Andy Brandt reported on a playground repair need and the board approved purchasing parts from George Ely Associates to repair Challenger equipment at Sunset Park for $2,721.00. Brandt also reported results of an LTAP study recommending a school bus sign on the northbound approach of Route 441 near Red Hill Plaza; he said the study was submitted to PennDOT and the township will install the sign after PennDOT approval.
The board discussed officer rotation for 2026 and determined that Mike Geyer will serve as chairman, Anna Dale vice'chair and Bart Shellenhamer secretary. Manager Blechertas said the township website will go live Dec. 9, 2025. The board unanimously approved routine requests such as holiday schedule and calendar items during the same meeting.
