Boca Raton CRA adopts consolidated fee schedule, eliminates advertising deposit

The Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously Sept. 23 to adopt a revised CRA application review and processing fee schedule that eliminates an advertising administrative processing fee and advertising deposits and updates fees associated with public notice and mailing. The change aligns CRA charges with the city's user fee schedule and is effective Oct. 1, 2024.
Staff presented Resolution No. 202404CRA and said the adoption would consolidate prior fee lines and repeal Resolution 2022-03-CRA. "Staff recommends adoption of resolution number 2024-04-CRA as presented," Arlene Chees Nelson, a DDRI planning analyst with the city, told the board.
The board opened a public hearing and, seeing no speakers, closed the hearing and moved to a roll-call vote. The resolution passed 5-0.
The change removes the separate advertising deposit and administrative advertising processing fee previously charged in some CRA reviews and consolidates public-notice and mailing fees into the single, updated schedule. City staff said the revision is intended to simplify billing and ensure consistency with city-administered fees going forward.
The board did not discuss amendments to the fee text during the meeting; staff said the new schedule will become effective on Oct. 1, 2024.
